Stübben 4 Ring Driving Bit mullen mouth - The double ring snaffle is a classic driving bit, where the "loose" rings, i.e. the rings that are not threaded through the mouthpiece, are hooked into the cheek pieces of the driving bridle and the lines are buckled into the "normal" bit rings. This system is intended to increase the mobility of the bit. Since the cheek pieces are firmly connected to the noseband in a driving snaffle, the result is often a rigid action, which is loosened by the double ring snaffle.
